Pak Sweets

This used to be my favorite place for Puri halwa, really authentic Lahori/Punjabi taste but their management has changed in 2021/2022. With the new management the place is a bit more clean and they have added more items to the menu but the taste of the food has gone down significantly. It's still ok and better than some other options but not nearly as good as with the previous management

The prices for the items are through the roof! For the same price I can eat at a v fine dining restaurant in Chicago. Also they put service charges on you if you're eating there. They are just selling snack items similar to the price of steak and fish. The food was quite average though. The atmosphere is quite dirty to sit in, it doesn't seem like a family restaurant.

Pak Sweets has the best and most crunchiest beef and chicken keema samosas in Chicago. The mayo garlic chicken rolls are super creamy, perfectly spiced, and simply irresistible. Each bite is a flavorful journey, and the quality and taste of the food here are unmatched. I highly recommend for anyone craving delicious Pakistani food!

FOOD: Halwa Puri, Very authentic taste, maybe even better when you compare it to that of Rasheed Sweets back home in Islamabad. The portions are reasonable for 1 or maybe two-person breakfast. The plate consists of halva(sweet dish), which is of the orange variety, Channa(garbanzo) masala, which are very soda-ish but in the best possible way with the right amount of masala for a breakfast meal, then you get aloo (potato) masala which was kinda cold but the taste was all there. In addition, you get achar (pickles) and some zeera raita (cumin yoghurt) and served with 3 puris. Tea, the tea is pretty good, made with full-cream milk and you can taste it not sure which patti (leaves) they use. AMBIANCE: I cane around 12 PM, Lots of seating, air conditioned, clean and quite, if you suspend the fact that you’re in America, everything else feels just like Pakistan. COST: 1 plate of Halwa Puri, 2 additional puris and 1 tea costed me $12.29 plus tax and tip. OVERALL….. Will definitely recommend, to Pakistanis looking to taste the tastes of back home and to everyone else wanting to try the Pakistani food while in the comfort of Chicago.

We landed the same day and directly went to this place for early breakfast of halwa puri and it was simply worth it. Just can’t explain the taste in words, read all the reviews before heading there and it was worth it. They open at 10am and we were the first people and get to meet the owner. Very friendly staff as well as the owner “Amir bhai”. He also mentioned PAI which we definitely will try next time. Also ordered anda prata and it was worth it with hot chai. Lol 😍 Must try them and very authentic paki food flavor.
